1. Who we are

KJ Surveyors Ltd ("we", "us", "KJ Surveyors") operates this website and matches property owners, buyers and landlords in North West England with independent surveyors. You can reach us at info@kjsurveyors.com or 01706 318200.

2. What these terms cover

These terms apply to your use of this website, to any enquiry you send us, and to any survey we arrange for you. By sending an enquiry you confirm you have read and accept them.

3. Our role

• We arrange surveying work. The survey itself is carried out by a qualified surveyor on our network.
• Every surveyor we instruct is checked for the accreditations listed on this site and holds professional indemnity insurance.
• Guidance given by KJ, our AI assistant, is general information to help you choose the right survey. It is not a professional opinion on your property and must not be relied on as one.

4. Quotes and fees

• Prices shown on this website are indicative ranges for North West England. Your fee is confirmed in writing before any site visit is booked.
• Fees are quoted inclusive of VAT unless we state otherwise.
• Payment is due on the date stated on your invoice. We may charge statutory interest on late payment.

5. Booking, changes and cancellation

• A site visit is only confirmed once we have sent you a written confirmation with the date and the surveyor's details.
• You may cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before the appointment. Later cancellations may incur a reasonable charge for the time reserved.
• If you are a consumer, you have a 14-day right to cancel from the day you instruct us. If you ask us to start within that period and we complete the work, you lose the right to cancel.

6. Access to the property

You are responsible for arranging access. If our surveyor cannot gain access at the agreed time, or the property is unsafe to inspect, we may charge for the wasted visit.

7. Your report

• Your survey report is prepared for you and for the purpose stated in it. It must not be relied on by any other party without our written consent.
• Reports cover what was reasonably visible and accessible on the day. They are not a guarantee that the property is free of defects.
• Copyright in the report stays with us and the reporting surveyor. You may share it with your solicitor, lender and immediate advisers.

8. Liability

• Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
• Subject to that, our total liability arising from any survey is limited to the amount stated in the engagement letter for that survey.
• We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses where you are using the service outside your trade or profession.

9. Complaints

Email info@kjsurveyors.com with "Complaint" in the subject line. We acknowledge within 3 working days and aim to resolve within 28 days. Complaints that remain unresolved may be referred to the relevant redress scheme named in your engagement letter.

10. Trade members

Surveyors joining our network agree to additional network terms provided at sign-up, including lead fees, response times and conduct standards.

11. Website use

You may not scrape, copy or republish the content of this site, attempt to interfere with it, or use it for anything unlawful.

12. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If we change these terms we will update the date at the top of this page.
