Areas we cover across the North West
Where KJ Surveyors works across the North West: town-by-town coverage from Manchester and Liverpool to Preston, Chester and the Lancashire coast.

Do you cover my town?
KJ Surveyors works across the North West of England, from Greater Manchester and Merseyside through Cheshire and Lancashire. Pick your town below for local guidance and the services available there. If your property sits just outside the towns listed, ask — coverage is decided by travelling distance and surveyor availability rather than by a hard boundary line.
At a glance
- Region
- North West England.
- Property types
- Houses, flats, period property, new build, commercial buildings and land.
- Travel
- Rural Lancashire and Cumbria can carry a small travel uplift; it is stated in the quotation.
- Outside the region
- We say so plainly rather than stretching coverage, and point you to a local instruction.
How local knowledge changes a survey
Housing stock in the North West is not uniform, and neither are its problems. Dense pre-1919 terraces behave differently from post-war semis, mill conversions differ again, and coastal exposure changes what happens to renders, roofs and windows.
A surveyor who works an area regularly recognises the recurring patterns — the local construction types, the common alteration habits, the ground conditions — and knows which findings warrant more attention on that street than they would elsewhere.
What appears on a town page
Each town page sets out the services genuinely available there, the property types typical of the area and the practical points that come up locally.
Town pages link back to the parent service so you can read the detail of the instruction, and to this hub so you can check neighbouring coverage.
If your property is outside the list
The town list reflects where work is regular, not the limit of where we will travel. Properties between the listed towns are routinely covered.
Where a property is genuinely outside the region — including anywhere in Scotland, where the buying process differs entirely — we will tell you rather than quoting for work we cannot service properly.
Who this is for
A good fit if
- Buyers checking whether we can attend before they instruct
- Owners looking for a surveyor who knows the local housing stock
- Landlords with property across more than one North West town
- Agents and solicitors placing instructions in the region
Not the right choice if
- Property outside the North West of England
- Property in Scotland, where the Home Report process applies
- Instructions needing attendance the same day in a remote location

Survey costs
When to bring in a specialist
- Property outside the North West — a locally based surveyor familiar with that market
- Scottish property — a Scottish solicitor and a surveyor working under the Home Report system
- Local planning and building control questions — the relevant local authority
- Flood risk in England — the Environment Agency's flood risk service
Common questions
Limitations and sources
- Coverage depends on surveyor availability on the date required; a listed town is not a guarantee of same-week attendance.
- Town pages describe typical local housing stock. They are general context and never a statement about your specific property.
- No local statistic, case study or review is published on these pages unless it is verified in the trusted-data layer.
